Timken India has bought zeroCode to achieve the twin goals of speed and
productivity
Bangalore, India. 12th December 2006. Timken India has purchased zeroCode: a
rapid application development framework from Bangalore-based PK4 Software
Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Timken has initially bought a single user
version of zeroCode and plans to upgrade it further.
Timken currently maintains and runs a number of applications, mostly written in
Oracle 6 Forms, for users across the country. They wanted to migrate these
applications to the Web increase productivity and improve system
performance. The existing infrastructure used intermediate technologies
like CITRIX to help deliver applications to users, but this increased the
complexity of infrastructure and reduced its maintainability. Timken wants to
use zeroCode to migrate its distribution application, consisting of 70 to 80
screens, to the web. Down the line, Timken India sees the possibility of
migrating all of its applications in this manner, thereby bringing the value of
better accessibility and improved business processes to its users.
zeroCode from PK4 is a platform for creating database-backed web applications
with minimal or no programming effort. zeroCode helps in eliminating the
typically-cumbersome process of developing an application, thus saving enormous
costs and precious time. zeroCode is a browser-accessible design environment
through which an application can be created in minutes, without requiring
programming skills.
zeroCode combines outstanding features of automatic generation - consistency,
ease of use, reliability, speedy creation of web applications - with the
unlimited customizability and extensibility of hand-crafted applications. With
the zeroCode framework, a default application can be created with just a few
clicks and new functionality can be added by building transactions called Custom
User Level Data Models (UDMs) - all in an environment devoid of code.
