An Internet application
is only as reliable and scalable as the architectural components
that go into making it. As far as architecture is concerned, there
are two major schools of thought in the fast evolving domain of
Internet technology - one built on Java-based technologies (the
Java Model) and the other based in Microsoft-built technologies
(the Active Server Model). zeroCode produces sites that use Java-based
technologies (the Java Model). It builds applications that follow
the Java Model of thought, using components and an interaction model
that are tested time and again for scalability and extensibility.
The zeroCode architecture is based on a specific set of objectives
- objectives that are common to any strong application architecture.
This document describes the standard zeroCode architecture in detail.
The components in the architecture include deliverables to the zeroCode
customer, interlinked with third-party components (some not owned
by the customer) that enable high-availability, high-scalability
server mechanisms.
