App Profile:
facebook is the second most visited social networking site on the Net with close to 34 million active users as of September 2007. A concerned netizen from Canada contacted PK4 and asked us to build an app that would let facebook users share and recycle items that they no longer needed. The idea was to reduce the amount of junk filling the trash dumps. Facebook was the perfect platform for such an app, because the friends networks were mostly geographically based or university/school based. It could become the ideal platform for Free Sharing or Free Recycling.

Using zeroCode, we were able to quickly and simply use all the features that facebook provides. We used News, Feeds, User Profiles, user-level integration, Notifications and Messages very easily through zeroCode's Web Services data channel.

Benefits:
      PK4 could very quickly build a full-functioned facebook application using zeroCode.
      zeroCode did all the heavy lifting for the project. All infrastructure coding was automatically generated.
      Integration with facebook was very simple and straight forward.
      The zeroCode-built app was inherently scalable to thousands of simultaneous users.


Solution: Based on the netizen's brief specification, the PK4 team did some research to come up with a full definition for the app. With zeroCode's phenomenal speed in application construction, PK4 was able to quickly design an application called Free Share / Free Recycle / Junk is Treasure. Use this app to:
      List stuff that you want to give away.
      Know when someone wants to pick up what you are giving away.
      Look for stuff that others are giving away.
      Let them know when you'll pick up the items.
