Moves into the most popular category on the most popular social network
Bangalore, India, October 10, 2007 -- Bangalore-based software products company, PK4 Software Technologies, today released two apps - Swap It! and Classy Gifts - on facebook. facebook is the world's fastest growing social network, with over 50 million users as of October 2007. Since Facebook opened up it's platform to app developers in the end of May 2007, nearly 100,000 developers have signed up to develop apps there.
PK4's CEO Narasimhan (Kishore) Mandyam credited facebook with building whole new networks of people who are totally comfortable with the Internet and are building their friendship bonds and connections completely online. "facebook has created a whole new "economy" of its own, with various ways for online consumers to participate and interact. And the app platform has put thousands of programmers into the game, providing a place for 50 million users to critique and use everything we build. Everything from work to play happens online in facebook, with users spending hours in the network. We're an early player in this space, but one of the most prolific. We've launched lots of facebook apps, but our game entry is both strategically valuable and, as important, personally fun for all of us at PK4." Mr. Mandyam said.
Swap It! (http://apps.facebook.com/swapgame) lets users swap adjacent images to match 3 or more images to score points. And as they score, they move on to higher levels. Users have a variety of themes that they can choose from. PK4 plans to let users come up with their own themes in the future.
Classy Gifts (http://apps.facebook.com/classygifts) is a fun app that lets users send elegant gifts to their friends. In addition, users can also arrange the gifts that they receive in a cabinet and show it off to their friends.
