Customer Profile: Our customer owns a hospital ERP system that has been deployed at several hospitals in India and the Middle East. Built with PowerBuilder this client/server application is functionally-rich and varied. With the coming of the Internet though hospitals are under pressure to provide more and more services to their customers on the Internet. These include services like patient appointments, resource allocation and discussions with hospital care-givers via discussion forums. Our customer wanted them to provide these online services as part of their existing product. Our customer could not find a cost-effective scalable solution to move their PowerBuilder application to the web.
Solution: Our customer used it's existing team and data model to build a new web-based appointment system. Starting from an existing data model, they were quickly able to get a working application. From there on using zeroCode's point-and-click interface, they were able to add in all the application logic quickly and efficiently. At a minimal risk and cost, zeroCode ensured coordination with existing data and systems. It proved to be the best solution to smooth web migration of client-server applications.
The system consisted of four modules:
Appointment Booking (New & Re-visits)
Pending Appointments
Patient Status
E-mail SMS Facility
Benefits:
Enabled patients to use the Internet to get to our customer Reduced design and integration costs by using existing data models.
Reduced training costs for our customer by maintaining the same look and feel as the legacy app.
Increased our customer's profitability by reducing time-to-market by over 55%.
